Uses: A well-graded material consisting of various sized particles containing coarse and fine aggregate to enable compaction. This base course (to go on top of sub-base) is commonly used for Council roads, high traffic areas, farm tracks, residential driveways and subdivision roadways.
Size: approx. under 32mm
Aggregate (20mm -)
Uses: Pipe embeddment material (storm water), drainage layer backfill, course drainage aggregate.
Aggregate (20mm - 35mm)
Uses: Backfill & drainage material, backfill for large excavations under roads, backfill rock retaining walls.
Cobble
Uses: A versatile material used for drainage, stabilising wet areas, general road repairs, landscaping supplies and also in gabian baskets.
Size: 5-20mm, 20-35mm, 35-50mm, 35-125mm and bridging rock at 125-approx. 300mm
Note: Bridging rock is a great dressing for revetment walls.
Broken Rock (Hammered Rock)
Uses: Erosion control, landscaping, sea walls, river bank protection.
Size: under 300mm, 300–600mm, greater than 600mm
Oversize Rock
Uses: Landscaping supplies, erosion control
